Stranded

This is one of my better Science Fiction\Fantasy paintings. The concept is not always clear at first, so I usually need to explain what is happening here. Imagine a planet where long wooded stumps grow so tall and high they reach above the clouds. For whatever reason, she has been left on one of these stumps to die. My wife posed for this painting in a bikini. If I remember correctly, she didn't like the idea of having to pose knowing the end result would mostly be nude. She complained the whole time and made sure I understood that the face better not look exactly like hers. Oils on illustration board. 1986
